When the Soviet Union collapses, an enterprising art teacher imports thousands of Russian paintings to rural Tennessee. After years of collecting, his own mortality comes to the forefront and he must decide how to handle the unknown value and future of his expansion collection.

PEDRO SANUDO: A CRAFTMANS HISTORY, 12min., Spain

Directed by Sue Wetjen

The film brings us closer to the figure of Pedro Sañudo. A man committed to his time, a person with values, of great coherence, who combines his speech with his acts. From 1971 to today he is professionally dedicated to leather crafts.

LIVING AND DYING ON SEPTEMBER 11th – A FAMILY STORY, 34min., Germany

Directed by Dr. Jan Philipp Burgard

Living and Dying on September 11th – a Family Story, by Jan Philipp Burgard takes a heart wrenching look at the tragic death of Sebastian Gorki, a German who was killed when the World Trade Center towers were attacked in New York City , he was 27. His wife Paula, miraculously survived, as she made her way to her office in the World Trade Center later than usual due pregnancy related aliments. Their miracle baby now a grown man, a grieving but strong widow, and heartbroken parents share how they are coping with their loss and living their lives 20 years after 9/11.

MOTHER DAUGHTER, 12min., USA

Directed by Ned Warner, Dirk Rasmussen

A few days before her 18th birthday, dog sled musher and playwright Bekah Grim found her parents had secretly packed her bags to send her to a halfway house. Her parents were emerging from a conservative Mennonite cult, and to them, Bekah’s teenage rebellions were not understood or tolerated.

Some people choose to be an activist, for others, it’s an ongoing fight for survival. This is a ‘moving portrait’ of Mellow, a trans, non-binary activist in Los Angeles. The story of moving out of darkness into the light, turning hardship into positivity.

ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, 40min., Canada

Directed by Chase Gouthro

Faced with the possibility of her son Nicholas dying from intractable epilepsy, Dr. Jennifer Anderson, a Canadian physician and single mother of three, decides to treat her own child with cannabis. With the treatment, Nicholas goes from 3-4 seizures an hour, and in a near catatonic state, to playing with his twin brother and older sister, participating in life, and no longer needing emergency admissions to hospital.
