HIGHLIGHTS – March 2017 DOCUMENTARY Short Film Festival – Documentary Film Festival. Los Angeles & Toronto

The DOCUMENTARY MARCH 2017 FEEDBACK Film Festival was truly a great success.

The theme of the festival was “LOOKING BENEATH THE SURFACE”.

Every film showcased was about a character or situation that was far beyond their appearance and overall demeaner. This was a festival about the themes of humanity and how we’re all more than meets the eye.

NOTE: This was the 3rd festival showcasing the best of DOCUMENTARY Short Films at the festival. We are receiving so many amazing DOC SHORTS that we will have 3 more documentary festivals in Los Angeles and Toronto in 2017.

This was one of those rare festival nights where every single film presented received multiple votes for “Best Film” of the night.

We are really hitting the peak of programming at this festival. When you keep having festivals where every single film is well received and garnering votes for “Best Film”, you know that your programmers are picking the right films each month.

Of course for short film festivals, there is an art of how you select and place each film in the lineup. You don’t want to show the same type of film “tonewise” one after another, while also not changing the tone too much and having too far range of emotions happening. It’s finding that nice rythm and balance from film to film. It’s tougher than most people realize, and there’s a lot of time and effort taken to make sure the best festival possible is presented to the audience each month.
