414 DUPONT, 5min., Canada

414 Dupont is a story about generational transition and family legacy, set against a changing neighborhood in Toronto, ON. Once the revered Indian Rice Factory — a restaurant opened by Indian immigrant mother and chef, Amar Patel, the building has since transformed into local favourite, Fat Pasha. By weaving together family portraits and scenes from the iconic Dupont St, the film explores freedom of culinary expression, sense of service, and love of family as common threads which prevail within the space today.

JUSTIN’S ONE YEAR WITH HIS TAXIDERMY LEG: RECOVERY STORY, 6min., USA
Directed by Joe Smith

This film shows a young man who lost his leg in an accident and overcame the challenges of rehabilitation. He found closure through the process of finding a taxidermist who helped him mount his severed leg, and he shared with us his thoughts about this unusual and emotional experience.

In 2020 when the world shut down due to the global pandemic the performing arts industry struggled to survive. This documentary is about six actors from Broadway to Toronto. They dealt with the issues of COVID all while trying to navigate financial instability, and the complete loss of their industry. This is their story.

Directed by Jingli Feng

Pauline Porter, a professional antique toys restorer who helps customers restore broken and old toys that act as family relationship bonds, is facing blindness. When she restores the toys, she is actually fixing a broken heart caused by the divorce from her fourth husband, the love of her life.

BUCK SOUTHWORTH: U.S. AIR FORCE FLIGHT CREW, 7min., USA
Directed by Daniel Bernardi

The life story of Buck Southworth, a U.S. Air Force Flight Crew in the Vietnam War, told and narrated by his wife, Priscilla Southworth. This is a remarkable and touching documentary about bravery, mission, love and death by Agent Orange.
