THE 90s CLUB, 85min., USA, Documentary
Directed by Robert Darwell
A charming documentary film that showcases the vibrant wisdom and life lessons from a dozen diverse individuals between 90- and 99-years-old.
The group of people aged 90 and-older has tripled since 1980 and this group remains one of the fastest growing segments of the population. A common African proverb advises, “Those who respect the elderly pave their own road toward success.” Unfortunately, this tends not to be the belief system in the case of Western cultures where youth is fetishized and physical signs of human aging tend to be regarded with distaste.

Director Statement
The pandemic affected the elderly around the world particularly hard. Many of those who were fortunate enough not to suffer health issues were isolated from friends and family during that time.
Over the past year, I had the privilege to meet and have intimate conversations with a dozen wonderful people across the US who are in their 90s and were open to sharing their life experiences with others so that we may gain some additional perspective on our lives.
