Back To Normal: A Cancer Survivor Documentary, 20min., USA
Directed by Senon Davis
The funny thing about surviving cancer is that it’s not really that fun. Yes, you get a second chance at life, and that’s amazing. You’re celebrated. You’re congratulated. But once all of that goes away, you realize there is no going back to normal.

Remember to Write Me, 13min., USA
Directed by Yannie Yiyang Gu
“Remember to Write Me” is a short film that traces the love story between my grandparents, who maintained their relationship through a decade-long separation from 1969 to 1979 caused by Cultural Revolution, a traumatic historical and social upheaval that happened in China. They kept a promise to write each other every week until their final reunion. The film uses five selected and narrated letters, voice-overs, archival materials, and footage of their daily life to observe my grandparents’ enduring connection as a form of spiritual refuge sustained across distance, time and historical rupture.
