Director Biography – Hollis Bennett (AGAINST THE WIND)

Hollis Bennett is an award winning photographer based in Nashville Tennessee. Originally from East Tennessee, he has lived on 3 coasts (E, W, and Alaska) in the largest cities to the smallest remote communities. He specializes in real people doing real things. The more remote the location, the nastier the weather and the more challenging of a shoot the better – he loves to tell stories no matter the condition and no matter the media. A life lived out of doors fishing, hunting, traveling and exploring allows him to relate to these situations and see them from the perspective of someone who has been there and experienced it first hand.

Director Statement

I would rather spend countless cold nights and early mornings in the field than in a studio. I love to build a rapport with my subjects and tell their story with them, not for them. The world is vast and limitless and by understanding what other people experience helps shape what I experience.
